Bible

Day # 6 – Photo Challenge theme – "Bible." I really wanted to find a composition to show our old family Bible but just never could. It is a huge Bible but coming apart at the seams. My maternal great-grandmother drew little images (all of the same design) of a tiny hand with the index finger pointing to certain verses of scripture. She would usually add the date and her initials. It looked as if there were certain Bible verses that she wanted to remember or to pass along their importance to the other generations. Sadly, the old family Bible grew quite tattered through the years due to overly enthusiastic folks tracing their family trees.

The first High Seas Expedition held at Linden Oaks elementary school attracted many families who coudn’t commute to Fort Bragg for the larger Vacation Bible School, June 17.
